Claude Chouinard

Co-Founder & CEO

Zen Jiwa Raga

Claude Chouinard is a hospitality and wellness entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience developing, operating, and scaling premium wellness businesses in Indonesia. His work is characterized by strong financial discipline, long-term asset optimization, and values-based governance, resulting in resilient operations and sustainable returns.

In 1992, Claude left a successful career in Canada and spent several years traveling and living abroad, studying Eastern philosophies and immersive healing traditions. During this period in India, he was introduced to Ayurvedic medicine—an influence that later became the foundation of a structured, commercially viable wellness model adapted for Western markets.

Claude relocated permanently to Bali in 2000 and co-founded his first spa venture in Ubud. With a long-term commitment to Indonesia, he and his partner Iyan established PT Zen Jiwa Raga (PMA) as a holding and operating company dedicated to the creation, development, and management of holistic hospitality projects. In 2003, they launched Oneworld Retreats, which has since welcomed thousands of international guests and built a strong global reputation.

In 2006, Claude expanded operations with the launch of Bali Botanica Day Spa, that continues to operate profitably and serves as a stable cash-flow business within the portfolio, the Day Spa has become a high-capacity Ayurvedic day spa, the only one of its kind in Bali.

In 2016, he founded Oneworld Ayurveda Tegallalang, a residential Ayurvedic center specializing in Panchakarma. The center remained fully operational throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining staff employment and positive cash flow—demonstrating disciplined cost control, effective risk management, and strong internal governance.

In 2022, Claude expanded the brand with a second residential Oneworld Ayurveda center in Ubud, validating the scalability of the model across locations while maintaining consistent clinical standards, brand integrity, and financial performance.

Today, Claude oversees a multi-location wellness portfolio with proven international demand, experienced local management teams, transparent financial reporting, and clear pathways for expansion. He selectively partners with investors and landowners aligned with long-term value creation, sustainable ROI, and professionally governed growth.

Expansion & Strategic Partnerships

Through PT Zen Jiwa Raga, Claude remains open to carefully structured expansion opportunities in Indonesia and select international markets. Growth is pursued selectively and deliberately, prioritizing partners who share a long-term vision, ethical business practices, and a commitment to quality over speed. The company favors collaborations that are grounded in mutual trust, transparent governance, and aligned expectations—ensuring that any new venture strengthens the brand, protects operational standards, and delivers sustainable value for all stakeholders.
